What is PowerXL Air Fryer Grill?
As the name suggests it is a new “8 in 1” kitchen appliance that is an Air Fryer and Grill. With the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill, you can chargrill and air fry all at the same time. Is your kitchen having too many appliances? Air Fryers, toasters, grills, deep fryers, you have so many of them, taking up the kitchen space. What if you had one appliance that would replace all of them? That’s how they promote the Power XL Air Fryer Grill. With the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill (a.k.a. Power XL Air Grill) you can make crunchy french fries and six huge chargrilled burgers at the same time. The manufacturer claims that with the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill you can cook healthy meals for the entire family, meals that are fried but have 70% less calories. The PowerXL Air Fryer Grill claims to heat up to 450 Degree Fahrenheit. This cyclonic air combined with high temperature heating gives you char-grilled results indoors! The manufacturer’s review says. They further claim that these “chargrilled” results are achieved without smoke. You can grill fish, chicken, and wings for a bunch of people.
How does PowerXL Air Fryer Grill work?
The PowerXL Air Fryer Grill has three heating elements. The Air fryer fan features so-called “turbo blades” that are angled to distribute heat evenly throughout the surface of the food being cooked. The manufacturer of PowerXL Air Fryer GRILL claims in their review that the competitor’s grills cannot grill and air fry at the same time which the PowerXL Air Fryer GRILL can. They also claim the PowerXL has a more powerful fan than its competitors (Nuwave Bravo). These extra features make food cook faster and crispier. Unlike traditional Air Fryers which have a small cooking chamber/pot, Power XL Air Fryer has two racks that allow you to cook more food (450% more than traditional air fryer, i.e 4.5 times more food). The Power XL Air Fryer Grill has the following functions: Air Fry, Grill, Rotisserie, Bake, Roast, Pizza, Reheat, Toast/Bagel. And hypothetically combines all the appliances meant for these functions, into one unit.
The easy to use and navigate control panel lets you select the desired function. You just have to select the function and forget it (we will come back to these features in our review section below)! The PowerXL also transforms into a rotisserie. They claim that the PowerXL can airfry chicken 30 minutes faster, with its “Rotisserie” function. The Chicken cooked in the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill is crispy on the outside (thanks to the Air Fryer) and juicier inside (Thanks to multiple Convection heating elements). You can air fry a Turkey 40% faster than your traditional oven. Pizzas cooked in the PowerXL have perfect crusts and are done in minutes. The traditional toaster allows you to make just two slices at a time, but with the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill you can toast for the entire family (6 toasts!). With its broil and bake functions you can use the Power XL everyday to prepare meals and breakfast for the entire family.
Where to Buy?

PowerXL Air Fryer GRILL REVIEW
How does it Grill?
The most unique feature of the Power XL Air Fryer Grill is that it can GRILL like a BBQ grill. How does it do that, well it does not have special feature. It uses a simple non-stick grill plate with raised edges that create the grill marks that you get with the BBQ grills, without charcoal and propane. While this feature looks very promising – the grilling does produce enough smoke to set off the fire alarms, this fact is confirmed by the reviews.
Disadvantages of Power XL Air Fryer Grill
Here is the summary of disadvantages arranged with the most common complaints at the top.
Gets Messy
When we analyzed the reviews we found that the most common complaint (accounting to 80% of the complaints) is the grease splattering on the interior of the Air Fryer Grill that is hard to clean. The grease coming out of bacon and burger splashes on the interior of the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill. The grease issue is so grave that many buyers regret their decision of buying the Power XL Air Fryer Grill. The grease makes its way into all the cracks and crevices of the door handles. The pans get stained are very difficult to clean.
Hard to Clean
Given the messy nature of its cooking, cleaning the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill is just as messy and labor intensive. People have complained in their review that they have to use knife and other sharp objects to remove the grease that gets into all the cracks and crevices. The pan that collects the grease gets so hot that it evaporates all the grease that falls on it, causing the smoke and making it hard to clean. Many people who reviewed the Power XL Air Fryer Grill complain that the bottm tray is inconvenient because it is flat. The air fryer needs to be cleaned after every use.
Not Smoke-Free
The claim made by the manufacturer that cooking with Power XL Air Fryer is “smoke-free”, is false. People have cooked bacons, burgers, zucchini and more and the house was filled with the smoke.
Noisy
The Power XL Air Fryer Grill is noisy, this could be because of the bigger fan they use in it. The Air Grill makes banging noise when you use the rotisserie.
Under Powered
The energy rating of the Power XL is 1500 watts while other similar Toaster Convection Oven Air Fryers are rated at 1800 Watts, which is a standard for such appliances. Power XL Air Fryer Grill falls short by 300 watts (20%). More power means evenly cooked food in lesser time.
Size
The Power XL Air Fryer Grill with its 930 cubic inches size is smaller compared to the air fryer convection ovens it is competing with. A true Family size Air Fryer Convection oven has 1037 cubic inches of area. The Power XL area is lesser by more than 100 cu. inches (11%) , this difference can have a significant impact on the amount of food you want to cook. The Power XL Air Grill is not as tall as the regular convection toaster oven air fryers are, so you cannot stack the food, if you do so the food gets very near the heating element at the top which can bur it.
Food for Entire Family
While theoretically you can cook food for the entire family in the Power XL Air Fryer, the appliance is not unforgiving as the true convection ovens are. If you stuff too much food, the food is going to end up being uncooked and would require more time. Partly because of the size and the power. Reviews reveal that you cannot cook all the food at once because this can lead to uneven cooking.
Gets Very Hot
The Power XL Air Fryer Grill gets very hot and has to be kept away from other things on the kitchen counter. This is a big kitchen appliances and many people feel intimidated when it gets hot.
Air frying with Power XL Air Fryer Grill
Does what it claims to do though it takes more time to air fry than traditional air fryers (because of the larger cooking area). The food is crispy and you can cook for three to four people at once. The fan makes a lot of noise and vibrations when air frying.
No “Stay-On” Option
The cooking time of the Power XL Air Fryer Grill is not more than two hours (while baking or roasting). The Air Fryer does not have the “Stay On” option that overrides all other cooking settings and continues cooking. This is particularly what you want when you want to bake large potatoes.
Our Verdict on Power XL Air Grill
Given their small size, traditional Air Fryers are not suited for cooking for whole family. The Power XL Air Fryer Grill tries to makeup with deficiency of the traditional air fryer by increasing the size of their appliance and putting in more heating elements and a larger fan. These augmentations takes Power XL Air Fryer Grill very close to a full-fledged convection oven air fryer like the Cuisinart TOA-65 (the PowerXL lacks the size of a true convection oven) which is expensive at $265, while the Power XL Air fryer Grill is priced at $150 (77% cheaper than the Cuisinart). This is the cheapest Air Fryer Convection Oven which makes it popular amongst air fryer and convection oven buyers. With $50 more a buyer will definitely consider purchasing the Power XL given its extra features. But the Power XL sort of has an identity crisis as it falls just short of being a COMPLETE oven. As a buyer you need to make a firm decision what your requirement is? an air fryer or an oven. If you are a small family an air fryer would serve the purpose, if you are a bigger family we would recommend buying a complete “Convection Toaster Oven Air Fryer” like the Cuisinart TOA-65.
People mention in their reviews that they are not particularly thrilled with the PowerXL Air Fryer Grill, infact given the mess it creates and amount of cleaning it requires, many buyers complaint that it is not worth the price, though it is a decent piece of appliance. Though the Power XL Air Fryer Grill has the features of eight other appliances you cannot use all of them once. And there are certain important drawbacks. It is not the only air fryer combined with a convection oven. There are a few of these “all in one” air fryers like the Ninja Foodi, Emeril Lagasse, Cosori to name a few.
DO NOT BUY THIS AIR FRYER GRILL. IT DOES NOT COOK LIKE THEY SAY.THEY SAY 35 MINS FOR CRISPY CHICKEN NO WAY I COOKED MINE FOR 90 MINS AND STILL NOT CRISPY.TRIED IT THREE TIMES FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS BUT STILL NO GOOD. TRIED VEGETABLES AND HAS TO COOK THEM SO LONG TO GET THEM DONE THAT THE OUTSIDE WERE SO TOUGH I COULDN’T BITE THEM. THEY ARE SO WRONG WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS THING. SO SAVE YOUR MONEY NOT WORTH IT AT ALL.
I want to buy your grill, but you have NO engineering spec. for anyone to look at or tech manual to look at online. you know like how many amps, watts, currents,or will it short circut my eletrical throughout the house, will i have to buy backup circut breakers? do i need 100 or 200 amp service? do i need 110,220, 440,or880 amp service to the house. stupid questions i know, but i need to know before i buy.also dimensions of the unit, will it FIT in the space that i want to put product in
BAKED POTATOES DID NOT MEASURE UP TO REGULAR OVEN BAKING; CHICKEN PARTS WERE JUICY AND TASTY (RECIPE I USED), COOKING TIME WAS CONSIDERABLY LONGER…GLAD I HAD A COOKING FORK TO TEST THE TEMP. I BAKED A LARGE STEAK WHICH TURNED OUT PERFECT BUT! THE SMOKE THAT WAS GENERATED WAS INCREDIBLE! KEPT SETTING OFF SMOKE DETECTOR EVEN THOUGH WINDOWS & FANS WERE ALL GOING FULL SPEED. IT WAS BAD! NOW I’M ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN THE UNIT INSIDE AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. I DON’T THINK I’LL BE ABLE TO GET SOME OF THE BAKED ON STUFF, WHERE THE FAN IS LOCATED, REMOVED. THE RECOMMENDATIONS IN THEIR INSTRUCTION BOOK WILL NOT DO IT. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY ABOUT OTHER SAFE OPTIONS BUT MY ISSUES WERE NOT ADDRESSED…ONLY INFORMATION FROM THEIR MANUAL WAS SENT.
I WOULD RETURN THE APPLIANCE IF I COULD GET IT CLEANED ENOUGH BUT THAT WON’T HAPPEN!
I WOULD DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM BUYING THIS STYLE OF AIR FRYER!!! SORRY TO SAY.
THE ABOVE COMPLAINTS ARE TRUE.
I don’t think Eric Theiss is an actual chef. I do know the Copper Chef skillet Eric hocks is worthless. The copper skillet I purchased stuck from the very first egg I cooked in it. I went back to cast iron. Point being, why should anyone trust what this guy says. He gets paid as a salesman for pushing these products.
Do not buy! I think this air fryer is dangerous my house is full of smoke after every use and I don’t know if it’s going to start a fire. I’m getting rid of it and sending it back. Biggest regret ever!
Huge disappointment! Wasted my money on this power XL grill fryer. Does very little on what infomercial touts. Going back to using my Ninja Foodi, which is more reliable.
I ordered one, I moved and it was packed. I just finally had the opportunity to try the airfryer, and the 90 days have past and they won’t do anything about it. IT IS BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX. THE AIR BASKET DOESN’T TURN!!!! I WOULDN’T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

DO NOT BUY…IF A MISTAKE IS MADE ON ORDER AND BILLED INCORRECTLY, THEY CANNOT CORRECT. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT IS TO RETURN AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK.
PLUS DOES NOT COOK AS GOOD AS THEY CLAIM. NOT FAST AT ALL.
Worked great for 4 months, purchased right around June 20 and threw it in the trash tonight. First clue not made to last was when numbers around the control knobs started literally melting off because the outside gets very hot during use. About a week ago the top heating element stopped working so no more toast or broil. I called the company yesterday when the bottom heating element left side only working. Very helpful customer service man, gave me return shipping instructions and RMA #. Spent $20 on a box and bubble wrap only to discover cheapest shipping $74. Will go check Costco tomorrow.
I have the stainless steal model. When I wiped the face, around the dial, the numbers come off. Now I don’t know how much time I’m setting.
We made boneless pork chops . We had a house full of smoke. What did we do wrong?
Do not buy anything from power xl! They do not stand behind their products. Mine will not brown toast, or anything else for that matter!! I’ve read the directions and spent 20 minutes on the phone with customer service, to be told how to properly make toast!! Even after going over all of the settings, they tell me I must not be toasting long enough. I asked them if 10 minutes isn’t enough to make toast, but of course they just argue and won’t do anything about it. DO NOT BUY!!
I only cook small things like Mozzarella sticks and it got dirty. I have tried to clean the grease off but several things have NOT worked. I paid $159 and the last payment was last month and the interior doesn’t stand up to staying clean despite their reviews. I think for the price paid – the interior metal should handle oven cleaner and other soft products to keep it clean. Feeling disappointed!
I have had trouble with my air fryer and Oil or Grease leaking out through the fan vents and on my counter top. I had to return the first one but same problem exists with the second one. Tech support could not help and said they would send me another one. My concern is the heat of the unit catching the oil or grease on fire. Would not buy this unit again. Going to try to talk direct to Mfg next week.
I got mine as a gift from a friend and I use it all the time. But it fills my house with smoke an it leaks what looks like grease all over my countertop I am using the drip tray an the baking tray an pizza rack to catch the grease when I cook meats in the airfryer tray but I still get grease all over my countertop it looks like it is coming from the legs an a vent under the oven. I am having to save to get a less messy Airfryer oven that doesn’t leak grease. Other than that it cooks really good I have cooked chicken an cinnamon rolls in it an cookies
I waisted $600.00 on 3 of these powerx, get very hot all around the outside, lots of steam comes out of the vents causing one family member to get burnt, to heaven, you need a island or open counter to even be safe with it , will not recoment this to NOBODY , I’m so sorry I believed you,
I have two major problems with this cooker. 1) The dials have no grip and are very slick. It’s very difficult to turn the dials, especially during cooking. 2) The dial settings on my cooker have been erased away due to cleaning and turning of the dials. I had to get a white permanent marker to mark the times and settings. As for the cooker itself, it works okay. It does take a little longer to cook than our old fryer, but it’s not bad I guess. If I could, I would replace this one with a different model.
Other reviews about how hard to clean this thing is are true. I have to use a flashlight to see the sides of the oven and stand the oven on its side to be able to be able to see and reach the stains on the fan and area surrounding the fan. Only a brillo pad used lightly with a soft tooth bruch will remove most of the spatter stains from the fan grille and sides of the oven. But some stains will not come off at all. The unit does a good job when air frying chicken legs but cleanup is such a nightmare that I went back to my Elite 8 quart air fryer. I bought this unit hoping to emulate baking chicken in a convection oven but the chicken does not come out as good in the Power XL as it does in my full sized convection oven and it is almost impossible to clean the gunk off of the inside of the Power XL. The cheapest return shipping is around $75 so I am going to put the Power XL in a storage closet to use as a temporary back up in case my Elite air fryer stops working. I wish I had known about this website before I made my purchase. The ads for the Power XL all stated it was easy to clean. Ha!
DO NOT BUY. I bought a 10 qt Power XL air fryer oven last Nov. as a Christmas gift. We used it about 3 months and then it started smoking bad with an electrical smell in the door where it hinges and the electrical cords come from. Also when I would shut the door, the light inside would no longer shut off, so I know it was an issue with the door itself and not a grease issue like some of there responses are. I finally contacted the company about the issue and they said I needed to provide them with a receipt. After I finally found it I emailed a copy to them and they said I could send it back to them with the receipt for a replacement but the shipping to send it back was my responsibility. Well that was going to cost almost $50 to send back USPS and even more by UPS. I bought it on Black Friday, so was almost costing me the same cost of the unit itself. Don’t suggest anyone buy this unit as a friend of mine had the same thing about 9 months before me (found out after I bought mine) and she shipped it back and they claim they never received it so she got nothing
I bought my Power XL from their online ad. Very sorry I did so. The timer knob requires that you turn knob past 20 minutes, then turn back to correct time. The knob is smooth and slippery and very difficult to turn back. I shouldn’t have to use a cushioned pair of pliers to set the time! Then, all the numbers rubbed off within a few weeks despite my careful use.
I called Power XL’s customer support and they told me to wrap rubber bands around the knob to make it easier to grip! As far as the numbers wearing off, their only advice is to refer to the owners manual for approximate timing. No help at all!
But then I tried to make a rotisserie chicken and what a disaster! Not only did it smoke up the whole house, but grease from the chicken leaked from the oven onto my kitchen counter and floor! Despite using the drip tray, grease was everywhere. Cooking a roast beef, cookies, pizza and such came out good.
I would not recommend this oven for its poor design and lack of customer service.
broke after one year , can’t find a new thermostat for it anywhere , even called the power xl company, and they wouldn’t sell me a thermostat separately .it’s no more than an expensive toaster oven.
I am a customer of frozen Tenderloin Steaks and 5oz Lobster tails from the Omaha Steaks Company. Will your Air Grill product, as advertised on the PowerXLAirGrill.com website, barbeque these meats and shellfish just as if they were cooked on a backyard barbeque grill?
