Copper Chef Grill Mat Reviews

The Copper Chef Grill Mat is very disappointing. Only used the Copper Chef Grill Mat twice and the outer coating started to come off and the metal weaving beneath in the middle was visible. Cleaned the Copper Chef Grill Mat very gently each time after using them (using the sponges made specifically for non-stick surfaces) and it appears that the heat from the grill is just burning through the coating. This is very worrisome, especially when you know that your grill is nothing special, in terms of being able to generate heat.

The meat sticks to the Copper Chef Grill Mat and are very hard to get clean again. Once you place the food on the Copper Chef Grill Mat, the food sticks to it and your food and the mat stick together. You need two utensils, one to hold the Copper Chef Grill Mat in place and one to flip the food on the grill.

The loin chops looked like they were just steaming in their own juices. You have to carefully remove the chops and remove the Copper Chef Grill Mat and place the chops back on the grill direct to get a true grilled finish. The Copper Chef Grill Mat would probably work for fish, vegetables and hamburgers but don’t try grilling steaks and pork chops.

Used the Copper Chef Grill Mat to grill something but the grease accumulated on the mat and dripped off which ignited a huge flare up. The grease on the mat caught fire and only turning off the gas helped the flames to die down. The Copper Chef Grill Mat is not worth it.

The Copper Chef Grill Mat melts and gets in the food. It really isn’t heat resistant. Also, the Copper Chef Grill Mat came apart after washing it.

Copper Chef Grill Mat is terrible. It leaves residue on food which is impossible to clean.

The edges of the Copper Chef Grill Mat frayed and continued to unravel from the factory cut. Wasn’t pleased with the performance of the Copper Chef Grill Mat because it started peeling while grilling and all the food had black particles all over it.

Burgers tasted like plastic when they were done. Didn’t get the lovely grill marks until the steak was well done. There was some light grill marks on the medium and medium rare ones, but just faint on the med rare. The fire is just too intense for the mats. They didn’t actually melt, but they actually did look like they were indeed melting. There is also a chemical smell during cooking.

Used the Copper Chef Grill Mat to grill twice just like you see on TV but it seems like it burnt, kind of crusted over. Just seems like it didn’t handle the heat. It starts to break down with first use.
